How much does it cost to attend South Tech?South Tech is a free, public high school available to students that attend school in St Louis County.Who can attend South Tech?Juniors and seniors enrolled and in good standing at any public, private or parochial high school in St Louis County.Can I attend full day at South Tech?South Tech is a half-day technical school and does not offer full-day curriculum.What is the bell schedule?South Tech offers am and pm sessions. The am session runs from 7:23-9:56. The afternoon session runs from 11:53-2:21. Health Sciences offers classes am or pm for juniors or seniors.What about transportation?South Tech provides transportation for all students. The morning students are picked up by bus from a location close to the student's home then brought to their home high school midday. Students in the afternoon are transported from the home high school to South Tech and then taken home upon dismissal. South Tech also provides "sports stops" to every high school in the afternoon so students can participate in sports and other after-school activities at their home high school.Can I still play sports and attend South Tech?Yes! The parking pass costs $25 per year.Do you serve breakfast at South Tech?Yes, breakfast is available for purchase for students in room B141, the "Sage" room before school. Students receiving free and reduced lunch at their home school are eligible for free or reduced breakfast; however students must submit a completed application for South Tech. Breakfast offerings include cold cereal and juice costing $1.60 for full price and $.70 for reduced. Forms are available in the guidance office or online at Southtechhigh.org, Students menu, documents & forms.Where do I eat lunch?All students will eat lunch at their home high school.If I go to South Tech can I still go to college?Of course! Students at South Tech learn and practice skills in a specific career area. This does not impede or exclude college acceptance in any field of study. In fact, many of our CTE programs offer articulated or dual college credit.Does South Tech participate in student organizations?Yes! SkillsUSA, FFA, FCCLA, FBLA & National Technical Honor Society. All of these organizations provide students with leadership, professionalism, scholarship opportunities and competitions with other students in your field. Members have the opportunity to compete on a district, state, and even national level while gaining valuable leadership skills and experience.Does my diploma still come from my high school?Yes. South Tech course offerings take the place of your high school electives. It is just like taking any other elective except off campus. Your grades will still be reflected on your high school transcript and you will graduate with the benefit of technical training.
