Vet Tech Field Trip to Chicago

Vet Tech Goes To Chicago
The South Tech Veterinary Major recently went to Chicago on an Educational Trip. The students were able to tour a premiere school, Chicago Agricultural High School. The school is a four year high school but with 5 clusters in agriculture. They grow crops, have bee hives, enter floriculture contests, have a farmers market, and have a barn with several farm animals. The school has 600 students that attend. It is so popular with students that up to 1,600 have applied for the coveted 150 freshman spots.
I addition to this unique High School, the students saw many tourist sites in Chicago including water animals at Shedd's Aquarium and the large animal display at the Field Museum. The students attending were Chris Buckner, Dylan Foster, Amanda Hansch, Judy Jurillo, Alexanderia Killingsworth, Chelsea Mees, Meaghan Powers, Adnan Redzic, Jasmina Subasic, Maradian Thomas, and Shanise Young. Donna Hobbs-Powell, Veterinary Assistant Instructor, Melissa Gray, Culinary Instructor, and Erica Zengerling, Teacher assistant, supervised the trip.
