Sunset Hills Chamber of Commerce Student of the Month
On December 15, 2009 Brittney Lehocky was selected as the Sunset Hills Chamber of Commerce student of the month. Brittney is very involved in school and in the community. She has availed herself of the many SkillsUSA professional development activities that have inspired her to excel in her career technical major of print technology, and also take leading roles in community outreach opportunities promoted both by South Tech SkillsUSA and her church as well. She is currently a member of the South Tech SkillsUSA Leadership Team, which helps plan and carry out such school activities as its Annual Canned Food Drive, UNICEF yearly donation event, and Achievement Days, an annual mentoring program in conjunction with our SSD CharacterPlus Program. In addition to this, Brittney is their SkillsUSA East District Officer Parliamentarian. She has continued to show her sense of commitment by participating at both the district and state levels of SkillsUSA Championships as a member of our Quiz Bowl Team. Just this past summer she also was a member of the SkillsUSA National Courtesy Corps which helps to set up and organize our yearly national championships held in Kansas City, MO. Balancing her involvement with SkillsUSA, Brittney is also very active in her church organization, taking roles in their Thanksgiving Outreach Program as well as working with OASIS International, an organization that helps refugees get settled once they arrive here in the United States.
